Research
I investigate cycling and reactivity of, predominantly, carbon and nitrogen, and regulation and sensitivity of biogeochemical processes to global change effects. To answer my research questions I use process-based and statistical modeling as well as field and laboratory experiments and observations. My PhD research focused on the effects of nitrogen enrichment on soil trace gas dynamics and fluxes. Lately, I focused on aquatic photochemistry, for example the role of sunlight for carbon dioxide emissions from inland waters.
